Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data dylansalas.com handles, why, and the choices you have. The site is a professional portfolio: it has no accounts, no forms, and no advertising.
1. Who is responsible
Dylan Salas, an independent data engineer based in Quito, Ecuador, is responsible (data controller) for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@outlierity.com.
2. What data is processed and why
- Hosting and security logs. To deliver the site and protect it from abuse, the hosting provider (Vercel) processes technical data such as IP address, browser, and requested pages. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a secure website. Kept for a short period under Vercel’s own policy.
- Analytics, only with your consent. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 records pages visited, approximate location (country and city), device and browser type, the referring site, and whether you opened the contact menu and which channel you chose. Google Signals, advertising features, and ad personalization are turned off, and Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Retention: 2 months.
- Preferences stored on your device. Your language, theme, and cookie choice are saved in your browser so the site remembers them. They are never sent to analytics. Legal basis: necessary to provide the features you use.
- When you contact me. If you write by email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, or Upwork, I receive what you share (such as your name, contact details, and message) and use it only to reply and, if we work together, to manage the engagement. Legal basis: steps prior to entering into a contract, or legitimate interest in replying. Those platforms process data under their own policies.
- Embedded content. The videos (YouTube, privacy-enhanced mode) and the presentation (Gamma) load only when you click to play or open them. From that moment, the provider may collect data under its own policy. Video thumbnails are served from this site, so nothing is requested from YouTube before you click.
3. What this site does not do
It does not sell or share personal data, show ads, track you across other sites, build profiles, or make automated decisions about you.
4. Who receives data
- Vercel Inc. (hosting), United States.
- Google LLC (Google Analytics 4, only with your consent), United States.
- Google Workspace (email), for messages you send.
These providers act on my behalf. International transfers rely on their standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
5. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete, or port your data, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw your consent at any time. These rights come from Ecuador’s Organic Law on Personal Data Protection (LOPDP), the EU and UK GDPR, and applicable US state privacy laws.
To exercise them, write to hello@outlierity.com. I will reply within the deadlines set by law. You can also file a complaint with Ecuador’s Superintendencia de Protección de Datos Personales or with your local data protection authority.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Necessary items are always on because the site needs them to work as you expect. Analytics items are set only after you accept them.

7. Children
This site is not directed to children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with its date.
